Do you know the difference between a query, mail list, message board?

This format provide a means for submitting a query.

When you subscribe to a mail list you also submit a query but in a list format for subscribers to see and reply to via email.

Message boards are a means of submitting a message in an open format - no subscription necessary. Both message boards and mail lists are usually moderated to reduce spam and nuisance submissions.

13-08 Freeman, Hayes, Jordan, Webster This is a Native American family search. I am looking for Rosanna Jordan born 7/12/1939 to Frances J. Jordan and Joseph Hayes (Irish). I see Rosanna in 1940 Census with her parents, Grandmother Drusill/Drucilla Webster and StepGrandfather Richard Freeman living on a farm on Paskenta Road. Drusilla/Drucilla first married Edward Jordan as found in 1930 in Corning with children

I do not know if these children were born to Drucilla or were the children of Edward by a former spouse. Main focus is on Rosanna who may still be living. Any information would be helpful. I live in Washington State and not able to travel to California yet.

13-02 Morgan I am adopted but have discovered my birth mother is a Morgan from Cottonwood California. I have also discovered that a forefather is Richard William (Billy) Morgan. I am dismayed that while some parts of the area are named for my Morgan ancestors, there is very little information on any genealogy sites. I am looking for any information that I can add to my limited information. It seems like Billy Morgan, having settled in the area in 1861 and fathered several children at Bloody Island, would have had something written about him and the family. Perhaps I am just looking in the wrong places. Much appreciation for any information or even direction. Thank you. Kelly 01/07/13
13-01 Clark I am trying to find where my Great Grandfather, William Jonathan Clark, is buried. He lived in Tehama County most of his life and died in Red Bluff on 12-25-1921. I am not finding him or any of his children that died in any of the graveyards with lists. He did work in a mill in Lyonsville at one time along with some of his sons but that graveyard does not have a list that shows up. Susan 01/07/13
