ANDERSON - Marie Florence Wright, 71, of Anderson died Thursday, June 20, 1989, at Anderson Care Center.
No services are planned. Burial will be at Lawncrest Cemetery in Redding.
Born Aug. 28, 1917, in Niles, Ohio, she moved to Shasta County in 1970 from Fremont. She was a homemaker.
She was also a member of the Anderson Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 9560. She is survived by stepson Ronald of Wasco; brothers Howard Kahler of Burnson, Melvin of Texas and Raymond of Milpitas; sisters Betty Engelhaupt of Burns Lake, B. C., and Virginia Waller of Columbia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Chapel in Anderson.

Alfred Heath Toole, 45, of Hayfork, died at his home yesterday afternoon. He was born in Rawlings, Wyo., and had lived in Hayfork for the past five years. He was an accountant.
No time has been set for funeral services. The body is at McDonald's chapel.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marcelene Toole of Hayfork, and two
daughters, Maryellen Toole and Drexel Toole, both of Hayfork.

DEATH CLAIMS SECOND BROTHER
Eugene F. Ramsdell, 68, of Old Station, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Mae A. Yancey, in Oakland Thursday. His brother, William F. Ramsdell, also of Old Station, died only two weeks ago.
Services will be held at McDonald's chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. William Richmond officiating. Interment will follow in Redding cemetery.
Ramdsdell, a carpenter and shingler, was born in Lake
county. In addition to Mrs. Yancey, he leaves another
sister, Mrs. Ruth B. Pearce of San Jose.

This morning, the news reaches us of the death of John
McDonald, 23 years old, at the home of his parents, the old 4
mile house above Shasta, from a complication of diseases
contracted in his occupation as a miner. He and his
three remaining brothers were for years engaged in quartz
mining in this county, and no more honest, industrious and
worthy young men can be found
anywhere. The sympathy of the whole community is with
the bereaved in their sad affliction, especially with the
respected aged parents, who gloried in the love and well
merited success of their children.

Graveside services for Ronald Eugene Jones of Redding, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Redding Cemetery.
Jones died Tuesday at his home. He was 43. The cause of death is still under investigation, according to the Shasta County coroner's office.
Born June 4, 1935, in Weed, he had lived in Shasta County one year.
He leaves a son, Gary, and daughter, Vicki, both of Randall, Wash.; a brother, Delbert of Eureka; and a sister, Betty M. Bellah of Redding.
The Rev. Roger Chamberlain will officiate at the services.
Hesse's Funeral Chapel of Redding is in charge of
arrangements.

Private family services for Bazel G. Shaw of Fall River Mills were conducted today at McDonald's Burney Chapel.
Shaw died Tuesday at a hospital in Lawton, Okla., where he was visiting a son. He was 61.
He was born April 16, 1917, in Washington. He worked 30 years as a road superintendent for Shasta County.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He leaves his wife, Cleo of Fall River Mills; his son, Jim of Lawton; a daughter, Bobbie Carpenter of LaPaz, Ind.; a sister, Bernice Jenson of Red Bluff; two brothers, Harvey of California and Russell of Oregon; his mother, Ema Shaw of Red Bluff; and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in McArthur.

Andrew Lee Cantrell, 75, retired logger and former U.S. forest service employee, was found dead yesterday in a woodshed at the family living quarters at Big Bend.
Coroner E. Duge Stanford said death was the result of a heart attack.
The body was discovered by a son, Leo, who went in search of his father when he returned home in the evening and found nobody around.
He was born in Oregon and had lived at Big Bend for the last 70 years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maude Cantrell of Big Bend; 11 sons, Andrew, Donald, Marion, LeRoy, Leo, Henley, Orland and Johnnie, all of Big Bend, Harvey with the U.S. marines in Japan, Ray of Montgomery Creek and Ralph of Mt. Shasta; four daughters, Mrs. May Connley, Mrs. Marjorie Hood and Madeline of Big Bend and Mrs. Maisie Winters of Reddng; and numerous grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at the Halcomb cemetery in Montgomery Creek unde the
direction of Meininger-Dusel mortuary.

Mrs. Josephine K. McCarthy of Bully Hill, a housekeeper for a
superintendent at the Bully Hill
mine, died yesterday in her home after an 18-year residence in
the area. She was 78 and a member of St. Joseph Catholic
church.
Born in Minnesota, Mrs. McCarthy moved to Bully Hill with her husband. She leaves a daughter, Miss Helen McCarthy of Redding.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the St. Joseph
church. Requiem mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday
by the Rev. Father John O'Connor. Interment will be in
St. Joseph cemetery under the direction of McDonald's chapel.

Mrs. Madia Minton, 76, a resident of Glenburn who had been in ill health for several months, died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 19, 1878, in Virginia.
She leaves her husband, Robert L. Minton, a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Shaw, and five grandchildren, all of Glenburn.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at
the Pine Grove cemetery near McArthur with the Rev. Robert
Hill officiating. Interment will be under the direction
of the Ryan Funeral home at Bieber.

Services for Evan Glendar Pugh Jr., 74, of Redding were conducted Wednesday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel of Redding. Burial was at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
Mr. Pugh died Monday at his home. Born Dec. 24, 1912, in Johnstown, Pa., he moved to Shasta County in 1979 from Seward, Pa. He was a molder with U.S. Steel Corp. for 47 years.
He is survived by wife Mildred; brothers Roy of Sierra Vista,
Ariz., Elwood of Johnstown, Pa., and Earl of Levittown, Pa.,
and sisters Esther Stephens of Hunstville, Md., and Jean Simza
of Park Hill, Pa.

Thelma Lambert, Redding's 1985 Citizen of the Year whose philanthropic deeds have likened her to Redding's version of Mother Theresa, died Monday at Redding Medical Center.
Mrs. Lambert, 86, had been hospitalized since May 12. Her heart collapsed at 12:30 p.m. Monday, a hospital spokesman said today.
Born in Springer, N. M., in 1898, Mrs. Lambert moved to Shasta County from San Francisco in 1939, and had been helping Redding's poor and needy ever since.
Her years of community service were recognized in February, when more than 1,000 community members, local and state dignitaries toasted her as Redding's Citizen of the Year, the first woman to be presented the honor.
Over the years, she made hundreds of visits to patients in
convalescent hospitals and collected
clothing, furniture and food for those left homeless by the
ravages of fire.
She was a leader for the Shasta-Tehama Council of Camp Fire, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Rebekahs, the Redding Grange, and the Senior Citizens of Shasta County.
She had been "Mother of the Year," named by the Downtown Mall Merchants Association.
In the 1960s she was selected as one of "12 best citizens" of Shasta, Trinity, and Siskiyou counties.
As a senior citizen, she became "Sunshine Chairman," a post she held for more than 20 years.
Her extensive community involvement included participation in
the American Heart Association's
"Rock and Roll" fund-raiser and a special Christmas project
benfiting shut-ins.
After operating the Sacramento Hotel in downtown Redding, Mrs. Lambert became a homemaker, and for several years worked as a volunteer for Roy Wilsey.
She later worked with the Y's Men organization within the Shasta County YMCA.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by daughters Pamela Mitchell of Redding and Leora Wicker of San Mateo; son Frank Jr. of Redding; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at McDonald's
Redding Chapel. Burial will follow at
Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.

Emma Brunjes died at Weed Convalescent Hospital Wednesday. She was 92.
Miss Brunjes was born Oct. 17, 1878 in San Francisco. She lived three years in Dunsmuir. She was a member of the Christian Science Church.
She leaves her nephew, Richard Brunjes of Dunsmuir.
Private services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel. Elizabeth Smith is to be the reader.
Remains are to be sent to Rose Hill Memorial Park, Whittier.
