Henry Mears was born 1809-1811 in Tennessee, probably Washington Co., TN. His parents were Mark & Sarah (King) Mears. His grandparents was Henry & Sarah (Shields) King. Henry Mears went to Schuyler Co. IL and there married Sep-8-1835 Nancy Tyree.

Nancy Tyree was born Mar-11-1813 in Scott Co. Kentucky. She is the daughter of William and Nancy (maiden name unknown) Tyree. Nancy Tyree (the child) had four brothers and sisters: Patsy/Martha, Benjamin, Thomas, & Sarah. When her father William died her mother married William's brother Isham Tyree. Her mother had two more sons, David and William. These then became Nancy's half-brothers and cousins. When her mother died Isham Tyree moved the family to Schuyler Co. IL. This is where she met and married Henry Mears. The records for Scott Co. Kentucky were destroyed so we can't find Nancy's maiden name, she was the wife of brothers William and Isham Tyree.

Henry & Nancy (Tyree) Mears moved to Millville, CA. Nancy died before 1880 and Henry died after 1880. They are buried in the IOOF Cemetery, although no grave markers have been found. Henry & Nancy (Tyree) Mears children were: James, Sarah, Martha, Mary, Nancy, John, Ellen.
