There was a charming home wedding at 6 o'clock last evening at the home of the bride, 2221 O street, when Rev. Dr. W.W. Case performed the ceremony that united J.E. Bawden and Mrs. M.K. Gilbert. The parlors were very tastefully arranged and florally decorated for the occasion with potted plants and choice flowers. There was present a select company of immediate friends, quite as many as could well be accommodated, and their congratulations and good wishes were added to the many handsome souvenirs of the occasion which were presented to the happy couple.

The ceremony over and the congratulations having been extended, the company repaired to the dining-rom, where a wedding supper was served with all delicacies of the season. After a social season the company of friends bade the newly married pair adieu as they departed to take a late train for San Francisco, where they will remain with relatives a short time and then go on to the southern counties for a bridal tour. On return they will reside at 2400 H street, where a pretty home awaits them.

Mr. Bawden for the greater part of his life was engaged in merchandising in Sutter Creek, where he was also a notary for sixteen years, and was related to the business department of the Amador Ledger at Jackson. In this city he engages in the real estate and insurance business. Mrs. Bawden is widely and favorably known as a lady of fine traits of character. She is a musician of well known ability. She has a wide circle of admiring friends.

We regretted an indisposition yesterday morning, which prevented our attending the wedding of Mr. J. Neely Johnson, Esq., and Miss Mary Zabriskie.

We are informed by persons present, that there was quite a large company to witness the interesting ceremony, and that nothing could have exceeded the felicity with which the Rev. Mr. Benton tied the silken know, or the fine appearance and complacent demeanor of the company present.

We are told so that Miss Elizabeth Zabriskie and Miss Rice, acted as Bride's Maids, and Mr. Wm. Johnson and Gen. Douglass, as Groomsmen.

After the ceremony was over the Bride and Groom with a number of others, repaired to the Wilson G. Hunt on their way to San Francisco.
We congratulate Col. Zabriskie upon having so worthy an accession to the membership of his family, and sincerely hope it may result in an accumulation of happiness to all parties who have had a kindred interest in the nuptials.
