THIS INDENTURE, Made the 16th day of June one thousand nine hundred and fifteen at Lake city County of Modoc, State of California BY AND BETWEEN Frederick STREIG the executor of the estate of Albert C. STREIG, also known as Albert STREIG, deceased the party of the first part, and W. M. PAINTER, a Single man of Lake City, county of Modoc State of California the party of the second part,
WITNESSETH: That Whereas, on the 6th day of April A.D. 1915 the superior court of the County of Modoc, State of California made an order of sale authorizing the party of the first part to sell certain real estate of the said estate situated in the Town of Lake city, County of Modoc State of California and specified and described in said order of sale
AND WHEREAS, under and by virtue of said order of sale, and pursuant to notices given thereof the party of the first part on the 8th day of May A.D. 1915 at the A. C. STREIG Store in the town of Lake city, County of Modoc between the hours of nine o'clock in the morning and the setting of the sun on the same day, to-wit: at Two o'clock P.M., offered for sale at public Auction and subject to confirmation by said Superior Court, the said real estate, situated in the said Town of Lake City, County of Modoc, California and specified and described in said order of sale as aforesaid, and then and there sold the same and at such sale the party of the second part became the purchaser of the said real estate hereinafter described, the sum of fifty Dollars he being the highest and best bidder and that being the highest and best bid made.
AND WHEREAS, the said Superior court, upon the return by the party of the first part of his proceedings under the order of sale, did on the 1st day of June A.D. 1915 make an order confirming said sale, and directing conveyances to be executed to the party of the second part; a certified copy of which order of confirmation was recorded in the office of the county Recorder of said County of Modoc, State of California within which the said land sold is situated on the 1st day of June A.D. 1915 and which said order of confirmation now on file and of record in said Superior court and which said record thereof in said Recorder's office is hereby referred to and made a part of this instrument.
NOW THEREFORE, the said Frederick STREIG the executor as aforesaid, the party of the first part, pursuant to the order aforesaid of the said Superior Court, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars, to him in hand; paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever, all the right, title, interest and estate of said Albert C. STREIG, also known as Albert STREIG, deceased in and to all that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate lying and being in said Town of Lake City County of Modoc, State of California and bounded and particularly described as follows, to wit:
an undivided one half of lot seven in Block "J" of the said town of Lake City, County of Modoc, State of California.
TOGETHER with all the tenements, hereditaments, and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging, or in anywise appertaining.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular, the above mentioned and described premises, together with the appurtenances, unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said party of the first part, executor as aforesaid, has hereunto set his hand the day and year first above written.

On this 16th Day of June 1915, before me B. B. ROBINSON a Notary Public in and for the said county of Modoc, personally appeared Frederick STREIG, executor of the estate of Albert C. STREIG, also known as Albert STREIG, deceased, known to be the person whose name is subscribed to the within instrument, and he duly acknowledged to me that he executed the same as such executor, and for the purposes therein set forth and described. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official seal, at my office in the said county of Modoc, State of California the day and year in this certificate first above written.
