KONOCTI SCHOOL

(Picture unavailable. Unless someone out there has one ???)

The Konocti School District was formed October 3, 1910, the last one to be formed in the Kelseyville area. This district's school was held in a private dwelling at the Brownrig place on Konocti Bay. There never was a regular schoolhouse built for the district.
Attendance was unreliable, and the teacher, Julia Coleman, who lived at the school and taught there for four years, used to bring members of her family to stay with her, so that attendance would be enough to keep the school open. The lack of children finally closed the school and the district was suspended September 13, 1920.
