The Highland School District was formed from the Rincon District in 1874 with 23 pupils which had increased to 46 pupils in 1881. A regular school building was built on Adobe Creek Drive a few hundred feet south and across the road from where Wight Road meets Adobe Creek Drive. The District consolidated with Kelseyville Grammar School on July 1, 1922. The school building is no longer there.
