Patricia Darling ORLAND - A service for Patricia Ann Darling, 53, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at F.D. Sweet & Son in Orland. Mrs. Darling died of natural causes Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at her home. She was born June 27, 1945 in Merced to Alvin and Thelma King. After graduating from Orland High School in 1963 and Yuba College in 1965, Mrs. Darling graduated from Chico State University in 1971 with a degree in home economics. She was named the Outstanding Home Economist of the Year at Honors Convocation. In 1974, she earned a California Life Secondary teaching credential. Mrs. Darling later continued her education with additional course work in real estate and graphic arts. She marriage Russell Darling on Dec. 23, 1965 in Orland. Mrs. Darling worked in property management for 28 years. She was a member of Paradise Ridge Runners Square Dance Club, Las Senoras and Ann Doro's Paradise writing group. Her hobbies included writing poetry and children's stories, water and snow skiing, ice skating, horseback riding, camping, flying, touring San Francisco, convertible cruising. She had a great love of children. Survivors include her husband, Russell of Chico; two daughters, Jennifer Darling of Santa Barbara and Gillian Darling of Chico; her mother, Thelma King of Orland; two sisters, Claudia King of Chico and Sherril Buttolpf of Orland; and one brother, Bruce King of Dayton. Mrs. Deen Hein died of natural causes Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at a local hospital. She was born in the Netherlands to Peter and Johanna Deen, where she grew up and received her education. Mrs. Deen Hein came to the United States in 1947, and marriage her husband, Joseph, in 1950. They were marriage at the St. Bonifice Catholic Church in San Francisco and had resided in Chico all their marriage life. Mrs. Deen Hein was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and Catholic Ladies Relief Society, and was a charter member of Community Hospital Auxiliary. She was twice named Auxiliary volunteer of the month and, in 1991, volunteer of the year. The state council of the Knights of Columbus selected Mrs. Deen Hein as the Woman of the Year in 1980. Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Chico; one brother, James of Chico; one sister, Afra Propet of Chico; and one brother, Nick, who resides in the Netherlands. Robert Pollock ORLAND - A memorial service for Robert M. Pollock, 81, will be held 4 p.m. Monday at his son's residence in Orland. Pollock died of natural causes Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at a local hospital.He was born March 31, 1917 in Adams, Wis. to Eugene and Nettie Pollock. After serving in the Army during World War II, Pollock marriage Anna Mundahl on Sept. 10, 1938. He worked as a truck driver for more than 40 years before his retirement.Pollock volunteered as a driver for a medical service in Orland, and enjoyed playing the guitar and ukulele. Survivors include his wife, Anna of Orland; three sons, Robert of Orland, Gerald of Texas and Donald of Kentucky; one daughter, Sharon Pollock of Orland; one brother, Marvin of Placerville; one sister, Lila of Porterville; and six grandchildren. Pollock's remains will be cremated. Spencer Blake A graveside service for Spencer Noe Blake, 87, of Chico will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at a Chico hospital. Blake was born July 15, 1911, in Norwood, Ohio, to Edward and Edna Blake. He attended an automotive trade high school in Cincinnati. During World War II, he served as a first lieutenant in the Army. He served in England, France and Germany in an ordnance battalion before being transferred to the Paris ordnance office. Blake had charge of the immense motor pool in Paris before being transferred to the ordnance office in Frankfort. His next assignment was in the operations office at the BMW plant outside of Munich. In September of 1946, he marriage Jeanne Dygon in Reno, Nev. Blake started working in the automotive parts business in 1928. He worked for companies in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee in such capacities as counter salesman, area salesman and partner-owner. After the service, he and his wife moved to San Jose, where, in 1948, he became a field representative for Chevrolet Motor Division. Later, Blake accepted a position as regional parts and accessories manager of the Kaiser Motor Co. He later was promoted to divisional parts and service manager and finally he held the post of national parts accessories supervisor in Toledo, Ohio. In 1955, Blake became district manager for United Motor Division of General Motors, covering parts of Michigan and northern Ohio. Later, he transferred to Fresno. In 1958, he started as a partner in a parts distribution company in Eureka. Later, he started his own business as a Pennzoil distributor. In 1964, Blake moved to Chico, where he worked as parts manager for Montgomery Wards for three years. Then he became parts and service manager for Coot Industries, which made all-terrain vehicles in Chico. In 1970, Blake started making gift items under the name of The Woodshed. He made exotic wood boxes. He and his wife continued to run this company and had sales all over the nation. He enjoyed wood carving and needlepoint. Blake was a member of Chico Elks Lodge No. 423 and SIRS Branch 63 of Chico. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne of Chico; daughters, Yvonne Anderson of Chico and Paula Blake of San Anselmo; brothers, Paul of Carpenteria and Newell of Los Angeles; sister, Dorothy Wessel of Davis; and two grandsons. Mitzi Klaudia PARADISE - A memorial mass for Mitzi M. Klauda, 99, of Paradise, will be held 8:30 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in a Chico care home. She was born Oct. 9, 1899, in Vienna, Austria, to Floean and Gustina Klauda. Miss Klauda attended schools in Vienna. At the age of 22, she immigrated to Canada. She relocated to the United States five years later. She worked as a cook for 60 years for Manhatten Savings Bank. In 1967, she moved to Paradise from New York. Miss Klauda has no immediate survivors. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel. William Butterfield PARADISE - A memorial Mass for William C. Butterfield, 82, of Paradise, will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto. He died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, in a Paradise hospital. Butterfield was born July 25, 1916, to William and Catherine Butterfield in Little Rock, Ark. In 1933, he graduated from Great Falls High School in Montana. He served in the Navy for 20 years from 1934 to 1954. Following his Navy career, Butterfield worked for Boeing Aircraft as a welding engineer in Washington for more 20 years. Butterfield was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paradise. He was a renowned cane maker and made the staffs for the priests of the Trappist Monastery in Vina. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth McCormack of Sacramento. His wife Janina died in 1996. Cremated remains will be scattered at sea off the coast of Marin County. Martha Robertson GRIDLEY - A graveside service for Martha Mae Robertson, 89, of Gridley was held at the Paradise Cemetery. She died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, in Gridley. She was born June 5, 1909, to Calvin Grimmitt in Norman, Okla. She was marriage to O.R. Robertson; he died in March. Mrs. Robertson was a homemaker and cannery worker. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oroville for many years and was a volunteer (pink lady) for the Oroville Hospital before she became ill. She loved gardening and enjoyed the outdoors. Mrs. Robertson also was an avid reader and collected many rare, old books. Survivors include two sons, Red Baker of Cottonwood and Frank Baker of Campbell; two stepsons, Jimmy Robertson of Anchorage, Ala., and Phillip Robertson of Madera; three daughters, Lily Siler of Oroville, Frances Calloway of Texas, and Betty Romine of Gridley; a stepdaughter, Dianne McGaha of Wyoming; and 17 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at home. She was born May 12, 1915, in Oakland, to Henry and Emily Joyner. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker who enjoyed bridge and home arts. She had also been a secretary to the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. She was a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church and the Ladies Epworth League. On April 5, 1963, she marriage Herbert S. Moore on April 5, 1963, in Alexandria, Va. Mrs. Moore moved to Paradise in 1986 from Warrenton, Va. Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Cook of Asheville, N.C., Susan Scott of Paradise, Alison Moore of Fayettville, Ark. and Sandra Moore of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Elbert Bergmans of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Bonnie Wright of San Jose and Nancy Reed of Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Roy Grangruth PALERMO - A memorial service for Roy Allen Grangruth, 52, a Palermo resident since 1980, will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Bible Church in Oroville. Grangruth died on Sunday, May 2, 1999, at a local hospital. He was born on Oct. 21, 1946, in Portland, Oregon. Grangruth worked as a machinist for 26 years for Norca Precision Machining, Inc. of Oroville. He loved motorcycles, especially Harleys. He also loved guns and was a member of the National Rifle Association. She died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at her home. Mrs. Wilson was born on Feb. 15, 1924, in Ripley, Tenn. She was an Oroville resident for 24 years. She worked as a clerk typist for 21 years at the Oroville office of the California Highway Patrol. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, California State Employees Association and the Oroville Gleaners. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and her grandchildren. Mercedes Lappin A funeral for Mercedes Angelique "Ange" McLain Lappin, 77, of Chico will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at her home. She was born Feb. 14, 1921, to Mercedes and Earl McLain in Chico. She was raised and went to school here. On Nov. 5, 1942, she marriage Col. James "Pat" Lappin. Mrs. Lappin graduated from Chico State with a BA degree in music. Following her husband's career in the military, the couple settled in Chico. She was a secretary to the principal at Pleasant Valley High School for 20 years. Mrs. Lappin enjoyed traveling and especially visiting Hawaii. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, Chico Alumni and Las Senoras. Survivors include three daughters, Pattie Holliday of Yreka, Carol Lee of Chico, and Terry Scudder of Modesto; two brothers, James McLain of Rocklin and Bob McLain of Chico; a sister, Janiece McLain of Chico; and nine grandchildren. Wayne Liston MAGALIA - No services will be held for Homer "Wayne" Liston, 77, of Magalia, who died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, in Magalia. He was born Jan. 13, 1922, to Homer and Edith Liston in Emerson, Iowa. He was marriage to Shirley Hertz for 50 years. Liston served in WWII as an instructor in airplane mechanics, and was stationed in Guam. He worked for 32 years for Pacific Fire Rating Bureau (ISO). He was the manager of the Sprinklered Risk Department. Liston was a member of SIRS No. 82, and he had worked with the POA. He and his wife traveled with the SIRS RV group. They moved to Magalia in 1982. He was active in the community, and was a volunteer at the Feather River Hospital for 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Magalia; a daughter, Susan Hauert of Fresno; a son, Michae of Pittsburg; and four grandchildren. Burial will take place at the Paradise Cemetery. She died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at her residence. She was born Oct. 19, 1908, to E.J. and Lucy Stilwell in Granger, Wash. On July 2, 1933, she marriage Marcus Rettig in Yakima, Wash. He died in 1973. Mrs. Rettig was the second oldest of six children. She attended Granger High School and St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and Wapato Grange. She loved her family and being a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard and her flower garden. She also enjoyed the piano, and family. Survivors include a son, Mark Jr. of Chico; a daughter, Sandra German of Chico; a sister, Louise Peterson of Carson, Wash.; a brother, Clarence Stilwell of Swan Valley, Mont.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Fellerson ELK GROVE - A memorial service for Elizabeth Mary Fellerson, 86, of Elk Grove will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Covenant Reformed Church in Sacramento. She died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at her residence. She was born July 22, 1912, to Edward and Agnes Evanson in Medford, Ore. In March 1945, she marriage William Fellerson. He died in 1991. Mrs. Fellerson was the oldest daughter and studied piano and was an accomplished pianist as a teenager. After high school, she attended Southern Oregon Normal School in Ashland, Ore. After two years, she transferred to the University of Oregon in Eugene, graduating with a BA in music in 1933. After teaching music in Oregon and working as a secretary both in the San Francisco Bay Area and in southern Oregon, she accepted a position teaching music at Orland High School. She met her husband in the choir at the Orland Federated Church. Mrs. Fellerson lived in Orland for over 46 years. She was involved in conservative politics. Her frequent letters to local newspapers conveyed her thoughts and concerns. After her husband's death, she moved to the Sacramento area so she could be closer to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Covenant Reformed Church of Sacramento. She loved Jesus Christ as her only comfort in life and in death. Interment was held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Orland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chalcedon, P.O. Dunlap, 79, of Willows will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Willows. Dunlap died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at a Chico hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1919, to Willis and Esther Brown Dunlap in Sites. He attended Sites and Maxwell schools. After high school he worked at McClellan Air Base in Sacramento as an aircraft mechanic for several years before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1943. He spent three years in England in major aircraft repairs. He received a Distinguished Service Award for devising a method of testing the value assembly coolant temperature control on airplane engines in 1944. Dunlap was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was affectionately known as 'Uncle Willie' to his family and friends. He was a self-employed farmer for 35 years. He was an accomplished craftsman and enjoyed woodwork as a hobby. He also enjoyed spending the summers fishing at Lake Almanor. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Colleen Ponciano of Willows;, a son, Scott of Willows; a step-son, Ronald Peck of Chico; two brothers, Charles "Pete" of Sites, and Robert of Sacramento; two sisters, Jeanette Pearson of Williams, and June Arnold of Colusa; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Charles Neville PARADISE - A memorial service for Charles Gilbert Neville, 78, of Paradise, will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Paradise Lutheran Church. He died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was born July 6, 1920, in Denair, to Mark and Lizzie Austin Neville. Neville graduated from Hughson High School in 1938 and Modesto Junior College in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. Neville marriage Frances Dorothy on March 25, 1940. She died in 1957. He marriage Lillian Lueck on Feb. 12, 1984. Neville was a real estate salesman for 25 years. He was a 14-year member of the Santa Clara Elks Lodge No. 347 and a member of the Independent Order of Foresters since 1946. In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister, Carmen Johnson of Modesto; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son died previously. Eugene Winton GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Eugene Allon Winton, 72, of Greenville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Scheer Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon to 8 p.m. at Scheer Memorial Chapel. Winton died on Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at a Greenville hospital. He was born on Dec. 9, 1926, in Tuscahoma, Okla. Winton served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952. He worked as a laborer for more than 25 years. He worked on Folsom Dam and Folsom Prison. He also worked as a hard rock miner on the tunnels on Highway 70, as well as on many other projects before retiring in 1972. Winton belonged to the Gun Powder Club and enjoyed antiquing, traveling, hunting, the outdoors and watching fiddlers. He also rebuilt guitars. He was a loving father and father-in-law. Survivors include his former wife, Dorothy Belt of Oroville; three sons, Tracey of Oroville, Fredrick of Oroville and Eric of Susanville; a daughter, Leanna Hicks of Cameron Park; three step-sons, Bill Wears of Anderson, Greg Wears of Redding and Jake Wears of Susanville; two step-daughters, Dolly Hill of Bakersfield and Margaret Hood of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Wanda Chastain and Dora Denney, both of Oroville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucille Varesio WILLOWS - A graveside service for Lucille J. Varesio, 97, of Willows will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Willows Cemetery. She died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at a Willows care center. She was born Dec. 3, 1901, in Orland. She was self-employed operating a beauty shop for 50 years. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Sweet and Son, Willows Henry Smith LIVE OAK - No service is planned for Henry T. Smith, 86, of Live Oak, who died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at a local care facility. Smith was born July 12, 1914, in Hawaii. He worked in the farming industry for 20 years. Smith was a self-taught electrician. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Solesski of Corning; two sons, Herman of Live Oak and Henry of Los Angeles; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bob Pugh PARADISE - A funeral for Charles "Bob" Pugh, 72, of Paradise, will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Chapel Mortuary. Pugh died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, in Chico. He was born Nov. 15, 1928, to Samuel and Elizabeth Pugh in Los Angeles. He received degrees from Cerritos College and Long Beach Community College, and was in the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Korea. He also served in the Navy apprenticeship program for boat building in Long Beach. He and his wife, Lora, were marriage on Dec. 17, 1948. For 40 years, he was in the boat building industry, and served as maintenance and construction supervisor at the Los Angeles Harbor Department for 25 years. He moved to Paradise from Norwalk in 1984. Pugh enjoyed building boats, water skiing, camping, traveling and square dancing. He attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Paradise, and was a member of the Chico Square Dance Club. Survivors include his wife, Lora of Paradise; a daughter, Christine Serna of Magalia, and two granddaughters. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon today at the mortuary. Thomas Pearson OROVILLE - A memorial service will be later in Sacramento for Thomas "Good Time Charlie" Pearson, 66, of Oroville, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at his Oroville residence. He was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Boston, Mass., to Thomas and Mae Pearson. He was a Sacramento resident for 31 years and moved to Oroville four years ago. He enjoyed all-terrain vehicles and dearly loved his mountain home in the foothills of Oroville. He was a wonderful father and husband. Survivors include his wife, Ann of Oroville; two daughters, Sheri Frentz of Sacramento and Krissy Pearson of Oregon; and a brother, Joe of Quincy. After cremation, inurnment will be private. Tonya Niblett-Craft SAN DIEGO - A funeral for Tonya Marie Niblett-Craft, 29, of San Diego, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Rose Chapel Mortuary in Paradise. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery. Rita Mello-Menzel A private family service was held for Rita Mello-Menzel, 62, of Chico, who died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Chico. She was born Aug. 25, 1938, to Joseph and Antoinette Mello in Oroville. She attended schools in Butte County and graduated from Chico High School. Mello-Menzel was a homemaker. She liked collecting knick-knacks, sewing and arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed bowling and won several awards and trophies. Survivors include four daughters, Sherrie Eslick of Quincy, Sandy Joaquin and Charlene Hague, both of San Jose, and Christine Williams of Chico; two brothers, John Mello and Joe Mello, both of Eureka; two sisters, Rose Mello of Chico and Lina Lawler of Eureka; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. BETTYANN FARMER At her request, no services will be held for Bettyann "Bets" Farmer, 78, of Cottonwood, Calif. She passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at a Chico hospital. Bets was born to Walter and Clarabelle Fullagar in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 12, 1923. In 1960 she marriage Edward Farmer; he passed away in May of 2001. Bets LOVED playing bridge with her special friends, traveling, jazz festivals, dancing 'til 2, house boating and their motor home. She worked as a schoolteacher for 35 years; in Arizona for seven years, then Chico Unified School District for 28 years, retiring in 1990. Survivors include her two sons, Gary Greening of Gerber, Calif., and Gregg Greening of Japan; her daughter, Gae Timmons of Chico; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. June Gervasi PARADISE - A memorial service for June Lucille Gervasi, 71, of Paradise, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Redwood City. She died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, in Chico. She was born June 11, 1929, to Joseph and Diva Massagli in San Francisco. She wed John Earle Wood in 1946. He died in 1968. In 1971, she marriage Joseph Gervasi. The couple moved to Paradise. He died in 1985. Mrs. Gervasi was a homemaker and mother. She loved cooking, entertaining, spending time with her pets, gardening. In the 1970s she enjoyed CB radios and went by the handle "Gemini." Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Ward of Paradise and Jessica Wood of Chico; her mother, Diva Corradetti of Redwood City; three sisters, Gloria Saufley of Newark, Dolores Hart of Concord and Karen Elmore of Redwood City; and two grandchildren. THOM OPDENAKER A celebration of life service will be held for Thomas "Thom" Ronald Opdendaker, 54, of Palermo 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5th at the V.F.W. Hall at Lincoln & Elgin in Oroville. He died Saturday, September 21, 2002 at a Chico hospital. Thom was born December 13, 1947 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Evelyn and Thomas Opdenaker. He came to California in 1963 and graduated from high school in Lakeside, Calif. During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Army. Following the service he attended college in San Diego. Thom was employed by the Los Angeles Housing Authority and later worked in law enforcement in San Diego. While in Southern California he was active in the Sweet Tooth Theatre in El Cajon. In 1997 he moved to Palermo and worked as an intake social worker for Butte County Department of Social Services. Thom was an actor and writer. He served on the board of directors for the Birdcage Theatre and Community Radio KRBS. His sister, Doris Laughlin of Palermo and a brother, Gary Opdenaker of Downing, survive him. Thom's ashes will be buried icon near his parents at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. Barbara Dodge Barbara Jane Dodge, 64, of Chico, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, in Chico. She was born June 5, 1936, in Long Beach. She attended Chico schools. HUSTON Robert G. Huston, age 77, died Sept. 22. 2002. He is survived by his sister, Bernice Smith; his brother, Tommy Huston, and six children. George Aguiar A graveside service will be held for George Veirra Aguiar, 69, of Chico at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. He died Friday, March 2, 2001, at a local hospital. Aguiar was born Oct. 16, 1931, to Frank and Elsie Aguiar in Orland. He lived in Orland most of his life. He graduated from Orland High School, transferred to Yuba College and then to Chico State University. He enjoyed sports, family, traveling, friends, dining out and classical music. He was a football coach for many years, coaching for Pop Warner and Orland High School. He was an avid fan of football all his life. In 1956, he renewed a friendship with Nelda Kalb. They got marriage on Aug. 7, 1957. Survivors include his wife, Nelda of Chico; his stepson, Gordon Kalb of Chico; his stepdaughter, Leah Wilder of Paradise; three brothers, Lawrence, Louie and Jimmy, all of Orland; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Worland, Wyo. He graduated from Chico High School in 1955, and attended Chico State University. Baston was a fire captain with the California Department of Forestry for 20 years. He also worked with the U.S. Forest Service in a lookout tower for six years. Baston had been a Lassen County resident for 34 years. He was past master counselor of the DeMoLay, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Magalia Grange. He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America, coaching Little League and attending sports activities in the local area. Fishing and hunting were among his hobbies. Survivors include his wife, Edna of Susanville; two sons, Greg of Janesville and Daniel of Maui, Hawaii; two brothers, Martin of Paradise and Pat of Reno, Nev.; three sisters, Mary King of Truth or Consequences, N.M., Patsy Gurly of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Sandra Wright of Reno; and six grandchildren. Randal was born on January 12, 1916 in Orland, Calif. Randal attended Orland schools, was an alumni of the graduating Class of 1934. Randal farmed his entire life east of Orland and in the Plaza District. He sat on the Board of Chico Production Credit Association and for a time served as Chairman of The Board. He served on the Board of Orland Artois Irrigation District from November of 1954 until February of 1987; he served on the board of Cal West Seeds and for a time served as Chairman of The Board. He was a lifelong member of the Orland Federated Church and served as an Elder at the local Church and held office in the Sacramento Presbytery. He was a member of California Cattlemen's Association and was a director on the Orland High School Board during the 1950s and 1960s, and a long-time member of the Orland Kiwanis Club.
