California Military Records California Military Records Root Cellar Extraction Project By Bob Wilson As part of the on-going extraction by members of ROOT CELLAR, Sacramento Genealogical Society, to extract and publish records and in coordination with the California State Archives, members of the Extraction Committee continue to tempt us with tidbits as they come upon them. Even though Mono County is not exactly in the area of Northern California for which we like to print raw data, the information found in this file was extremely interesting to the committee especially the fact that a survey of the California Nevada state line in 1863 forced the people in Aurora to realize that they were really located in Nevada and were not a part of California. Plus, there was a certain element of lawlessness that abounded in that remote area.
