Madera Biographies: DEARBORN

 

Dr. RAY R. DEARBORN

    Dr. Ray R. Dearborn, prominent in the medical profession at Madera, has been county physician for the last twelve years, and as such has been in charge of the Madera county hospital.
    Dr. Dearborn is a native of New Hampshire, born at North Woodstock. His parents were Henry L. and Jennie (Gerrish) Dearborn. He attended schools in New Hampshire and graduated with the M. D. degree from the University of Vermont in 1911. He was interned in the Mary Fletcher hospital at Burlington, Vt. He practiced for eight months at Marble, Colorado, taking the place of the local physician during his absence.
    Twenty years ago, Dr. Dearborn located in the City of Madera, and has been active in his profession and in public affairs there ever since. He is a member of the Rotary club at Madera, and besides being enrolled with the American Medical association and the state society; he is a member of the Fresno County Medical society.
    In fraternal affairs, Dr. Dearborn is a member of Madera Lodge, F. and A. M., and of other Masonic bodies, including the San Joaquin Valley Scottish Rite and the Shrine at San Francisco.
    Dr. Dearborn is married to Octa Hawes, a native of New Hampshire. They have two children: Betty, born in Colorado and Robert, born in Madera.
